The Arabian Horse Industry in Europe and also other parts of the world is facing extreme problems over the past 15 years, with declines in the number of breeders and foals born. A small group of breeders from Germany and Belgium decided to join forces and establish a “shareholding company” called European Breeders Trust. It aims to involve all European breeders to gain back and fascinate people for the Arabian Horse and to stop the decline of the Arabian Horse Breed in Europe.
European Breeders Trust was established to help its shareholders to improve their own breeding programs, to represent the interests of European Breeders and to assist organizations and National Societies to develop. Activities of European Breeders Trust include:
- The improvement of the buying and selling situation, including the conduction of auctions (European Breeders Select Sale)
- The organization and distribution of exclusive breeding rights
- The organization of further training activities for breeders
- The creation of optimal conditions for the preparation and presentation of Arabian horses for Arabian horse shows
- The creation of a community of breeders
Shares and services will be available ONLY to European citizens and can be purchased only through the Arabian Futurity Europe to guarantee a stable issue price. However, European Breeders Trust will not start its own breeding program. Its only purpose is to support its shareholders with their programs.
Among the initial founders of European Breeders Trust (Mr. Karl-Heinz Stöckle, Mr. Gregor Aymar and Dr. Nils Ismer / all from Germany) the Board consists of a group of high quality individuals with long time experience in the world of Arabian horses: Mr. James Swaenepoel / Belgium, Mr. Giampaolo Giubiotti / Italy, Mr. Raphael Curti / France, Mr. Marco Francini / Italy and last but not least Mr. Sven Schick / Germany. To ensure financial stability and professional support during the phase of founding, the Arabian Futurity Europe – a non-profit organization – was found as a strong partner and initial investor.
